Transmission System Frequency Data

This group of pages contains functions to view transmission system frequency data from the balancing mechanism reporting service. Frequency changes in line with the second-by-second balance between system demand and generation. If demand is greater than generation, the frequency falls while if generation is greater than demand, the frequency rises. Frequency must be kept between 49.5Hz and 50.5Hz, but the system has operational limits of 49.8Hz and 50.2Hz.

This page details the live frequency, but not the services used to maintain frequency. EnAppSys does, however, produce monthly Mandatory Frequency Response reports detailing both the contract costs and the estimated balancing costs required to deliver mandatory frequency response. To find out more about these reports email sales@enappsys.com.
